packin' up camp

Next week I'm going camping as a sort of graduation "hurrah!" and I'm really looking forward to it. I just got a few books from Amazon that I can emotionally invest in whilst sitting by the campfire. The one I'm most excited about is Ruby by V.C. Andrews, and though her books are generally for a younger female audience, I figure this will be a fun summer read. Plus, it takes place in the heart of the Louisiana bayou and is full of haunted mansions, evil spirits, deception, and young love, which are all things I can appreciate at any age. I'm excited to pull out the Carhartt vest my dad passed down to me a year ago and my Palladium boots, which sadly haven't seen much wilderness yet. We will be going to the historic ghost town of Bodie on Wednesday, which I've been wanting to go to ever since my parents went without me one year when I was little. I think going will truly fulfill a childhood dream of mine. Anywho, I really should be finishing up my last final essay (ever!), I'll post lots of pictures after the trip!

(Darla managed to get in this one, the sneaky devil!)
